    they kept nagging me i need to put my salary in with FD to have an account, i said many times no you don't just open an e-savings add £1.
    Maybe they may have accepted you if you hadn't said that to them, although it's true, it won't help your case in getting an account with them by saying you won't be putting your salary in.

    but its true tho isn't it? don't need to have salary etc ahh well i'll be applying again soon, last time i applied was 7 months ago so they probs forgot me now :)

    It is true, but I would just go along that your going to pay your salary in this time if you want an account with them.
  • It's well worth it with FD. I went from Smile to First Direct (both voted as the best 2 banks in terms of customer service regularly) and feel that FD are brilliant! Well worth the minimal upheaval in redirecting DD and what not :)
    Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
    September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
    April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
    Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

    Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037
