Audrey Hepburn Style Dress

Just a quicke post. Out of curiousity I went onto ebay to see what the s/h value of a wedding dress was. Someone mentioned on another thread that they had a dress they wanted to sell blah blah.
I know material is expensive because I once made some polyester car seat covers (leopard print), so wedding fabric must be sky high cost wise.
If you go onto ebay there is a vintage section under wedding dresses. No doubt all these dresses have only been worn once.
Seems to be the ideal place for securing quality fabric & even a retro dress Audrey Hepburn style.0 -

Hiya,
My dress is from Lou lou bridal. They start at about £500 and funnily enough one of my friends said it reminded her of Audrey Hepburn in funny girl.
The web site is Lou Lou bridal . co . uk (cos I'm new I'm not allowed to post a link sorry) my dress is LB15 and is lovely and great quality in real life as well as not breaking the bank :j

I wanted that sort of dress to, but didn't want to buy online as I couldn't try it on (honeypie boutique, dolly couture etc) are made to order so you can't really return.
I ended up with a dress from Prefection bridal, it was called iris.

That's a gorgeous dress. I'm looking for something along the lines of this thread but something that I can wear again for special occasions (posh meal/going to the races etc). I don't like the idea of just wearing the dress once.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

My adult BM dresses were from the Very catalogue, we added the wee sparkly bits ourselves to make them a bit more glam. The flowergirls dresses were from an ebay seller recommend by someone on the forum (can't remember who) but search ebay for huiyunkitty. The dresses were a very reasonable £28 each.
I made the headband myself, it started life as this (from Tesco was about £5) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-Barton-Flowers-Sparkle-Headband/dp/B0046BP5Y0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314007637&sr=8-1
I then snipped the ends of and threaded some pearls onto it and twisted it at the ends so they did not fall off. I then added some purple stick on beads (ebay) to the flower and then threads some more beads underneath the flower using jewellery wire (again eBay). I was really easy to do, did not take me longer than a few hours. Plus the raw materials cost less than £10 in total so I knew if it was a diaster it wasn't really that big a deal!0
