Anti-virus scanner taking too long

Over the weekend, I've done a anti-virus scan. It took 3 hours. Normally, it takes around 1.5-2 hours.

Not sure why it has taken so long. I haven't created any new documents, install software, downloaded anything, etc...

    Drop a brand challenge
    on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
    30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    I've found that doing a Ccleaner run before a virus scan improves the scan speed.
    This is because the scanner does not have to trawl through lots of cache files etc. from browsers and other such temporary files.

    There are thousands of files on your computer, most people just do not realise this, and as you surf many more are created. So next time follow Dave_C advice and clean out the crap to help speed up the scan.

    You should get something better, like a free solution known as Avast.
