I use a free program called MediaMonkey to get music files from my iPod/iDevice onto other devices. It looks at the metadata for the files instead of the mumbled file names and can copy them all for you and then rename etc too.
Apps etc will need to be re-downloaded or connected to a PC with iTunes and then in the menu select ' Transfer purchased items' or something similar.
HTH,

Connect it up to iTunes and let it run.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
Hook the iPhone up to the same computer that you sync your iPod with. iTunes will automatically transfer your purchases to the iPhone and other content to the iPhone. Simples

You need to make a playlist to get the songs you want or itunes will just sync and try to chuck the whole library onto your ipod how-to-create-podcast-playlists0

Sync the iPhone to iTunes, same as you did (we assume) with the iPod.
If you didn't use iTunes to populate the iPod, what did you use?0 -
Thanks everyone for the replies,
I am using Itunes by the way,
I went back to my Ipod library and had another go and a presto managed to sync my music and apps, took a while and had a do a little tweaking but all is fine now,
I have two libraries one for Ipod and another for Iphone, with using the Ipod library am I ok to delete the Iphone one has I no longer need it now?
Many thanks all
