My friend in America is new to the computer and while he was trying to learn to copy & paste he says this happened -
"I accidentally got the computer to enlarge the letters in my e mail messages. have you any idea on how to get them back to their old smaller size? "
I think he's using Vista which I know nothing about. Anybody help?

Whenever I write anything in an email or a word processor there is always a bar above the page with things like B I U T etc and some left right justification bars. Somewhere up there you will also find two boxes with something like ARIEL 12 written in them. 12 is the letter size and can be clicked on and another size chosen. It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.0

You'd have to get him to narrow the problem down a bit.
Any idea what he is using for his email? Is it web based or is he using a package on the PC like Outlook? Won't be Outlook Express if it's Vista as it doesn't come with it.
If it is web based, which browser is he using? Is it only the email he has a problem with, or is it other software or websites as well?
He might be better to get some smart neighbourhood kid to sort it for him!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Hi,
is he using hotmaill?
My hotmail default font is tahoma 10.
What he could do is select all,
either by left clicking and hold, at top left hand corner of message dragging to bottom right corner and release,
or,
right click in message, then scroll down and click select all,
then choose a suitable font size.0 -
Maybe just press 'Ctrl' and '0' together, but it really depends on how he got in that situation.0

Hold CTRL and move the mouse wheel up or down.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

What Steve said, but alternatively (if he doesn't have a wheel mouse and assuming he's using Internet Explorer or Firefox), click on View > Zoom > 100%0
-
Also try Ctrl and + or Ctrl and - at the same time in firefox0
