hi all
I'm planning to go abroad and work in the EU soon and was wondering whether it is better value to buy Euros whilst still in the UK or whether you get a better rate once arrived? I'm going to Spain if that makes any difference....
many thanks!

We have been to Lanzarote and Majorca this year and on both occasions found that we could change money for comparable rates to the UK. We also found that there were plenty of places offering exchange services.0

That's a horribly general question and Spain is an awfully big place. There isn't one right answer. Depending on the particular outfit you buy from it could go either way.
If you buy from one of the best buy places then getting in the UK will probably be better0 -

What I was trying to establish was whether Euro's cost more at home or abroad.
I thought that you could get a better rate for 'selling' pounds abroad, regardless of whether it is Italy, France, Germany, Spain or whatever. The reason being that because the Euro is the shared currency, there are less sterling in circulation and so they have a greater 'value'.
Seems that you are saying ultimately it makes very little difference. Thanks for your help0
