My £70 iron thats just over a year old went faulty yesterday. I emailed Tefal asking wether they would repair or replace it and this is their reply back

Dear Mrs *******

Thank you for your recent email regarding the above appliance. We are concerned to hear of the problem that you have experienced.

There are currently three options available to you:

1. You could return your product to your point of purchase as your contract remains with the retailer.

2. You could contact any local electrical repair agent or contact Wesco on 08457 258588 for repair details .

3. If neither of the above two options are convenient to you, we would be happy for you to contact us again on 0845 6021454 to discuss the possibility fo offering you a new product at a reduced price.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

If you no longer have the receeipt-other proof of purchase might be acceptable(I am guessing you do as you know when you bought it)

I had an Iron that only lasted 5 months. However, the nails I banged in with it are still firm after four years.

We used to have Tefal irons but now use Phillips - much better.
