Los Angeles - How and when to get cheap flights/hotels

2) Travel agents dont seem to do the hotel we want. We are looking at a budget hotel (preferable the Days Inn Hollywood at about £70 per night. currently for 10 days on the actual hotel website its £622 for 10 nights. im a bit wary about going all that way with just an email confirmation. tried to phone them direct but its problematic to get any kind of price/booking charges..all seems a bit 'casual'

Its normal to turn up with just an email confirmation. Ive just been travelling around the world for 8 months and done it for everywhere we stayed. Imagine if Id booked everywhere for 8 months in a travel agent! Infact after a while I didnt even bother bringing the email with me as no one looked at it.

On my travels we actually stayed at the Days Inn Hollywood for 6 nights. We booked it through Expedia so we could get nectar points. You could book direct on their website if you wanted but came out same price to expedia for me.

I would recommend it as its only a 2 min walk to the Hollywood & highland metro station. We used this to get to Universal Studios. We used the bus to get everywhere else which you could also catch from there. The hotel was good too, free breakfast and pool.
