Can anyone please explain to me the science behind Mr Muscle Shower Shine? How does it work? How does spraying this onto wet tiles make it unnecessary to dry the tiles?
Does anyone use it? Is it effective?

Hi
Not sure about the science behind it but I use Shower Shine and find it useful.
I have a large walk in shower with plastic screens. If I don't use shower shine and don't "squeegy" the water off or dry the screen/tiles, then the water just dries and looks terrible.
After every shower, I spray all areas with shower shine. It seems to make the water run down the whole area faster and I'm not left with annoying water marks.
Tips:
As it says on the bottle and most important.....
- START WITH A CLEAN SHOWER
- use every time you shower
And don't be fooled into thinking you have to use the Mr Muscle brand. I use the ASDA one with is frequently less than a quid and it does the job just as well. That's an MSE tip for you
You still have to clean the shower, just not as often.0 -
I am not a chemist but I suspect it breaks down the surface tension of the water that remains on your tiles and shower screen allowing the water to run away rather than remaining where it is and evaportating away leaving behind a residue of whatever chemicals (limescale etc) were disolved in the water.
Water has a relartively high surface tension therefore tends to form into droplets, this is why you need soap to wash your hands effectively as the soap breaks the surface tension of the water (amongst other things) and allows for better wetting and washing of your hands.
At least this what I remember from my chemistry lectures from a long long time ago."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
**!** IT'S BOTTLED MAGIC JUICE **!** I work in the factory where it is made.
Many pixies give thier lives for this product so use it wisely and don't whatever you do spray it on your private parts....As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.0 -
i live in a very very hard water area, its so bad that after one shower the glass looks like it hasn't been cleaned for 6 months.
but now we use shower spray after every shower and it really does make a difference, have no idea how it works - but it does.0 -
Do you still have to use a squeegee or just the spray? we live in v hard water area and our shower looks horrible within couple of uses after a big clean despite the squeegee:wall:Trying to get a grip :think:0

It seems that it's unnecessary to use a squeegee. That's the beauty of it, I suppose. Thanks for the explanations and a special thanks to the pixies.0
