Epson printer and windows 7

in Techie Stuff
I've got an old Epson stylus photo RX425 which works fine and the ink is reasonable, but I recently bought a new computer with windows 7 and while I can print stuff as usual it won't scan directly like before ( 7 ).I can scan if I go through devices etc but have to resize stuff and I'm not very techie.
So I think I need an updated driver (didn't work that out a friend suggested it
) but I don't seem to be able to find one. When I got to the Epson site I just seem to go round in circles
any suggestions please

Is Epson Scan installed?
The link is from the page for a different printer but I think there is only one version of Epson Scan

Set a restore point before installing, and if it is not suitable, you can uninstall it
Their live chat is worth considering, say genuine inks if asked

Sorry to hear that, see what live chat can do, I use them when I get stuck because they are reluctant to go anywhere until they have solved it0
