Honeymoon - London, Chicago, Vegas

Good evening
We're currently attempting to arrange our honeymoon for next year but have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available in terms of flights to America.
We were torn between East and West coast, but having been to NYC in 2008 we'd like to try something different, so are considering around 5 nights in Chicago then a couple of nights in Vegas.
Is there a 'best way' to get there? I've looked at flight comparison sights and have seen flights from Delta, Continental, BA, Virgin, etc and the list is endless.
Ideally we'd like to do it as cheaply as possible, and with non-stop flights. However if its worth a 'stop over' to see somewhere else then that can be done.
We were thinking London to Chicago first, then Vegas last and back to London.
Any thoughts appreciated
Thanks

If you fly with a US airline that uses Chicago O'Hare as a hub (United or American Airlines come to mind) you may be able to get a free stopover there, that way the flights won't be any more expensive. We flew with United from LHR to Vegas - Washington and New York for our honeymoon and the flights weren't much more than LHR - Vegas return.
Their websites will give you the option to put in a multi-city flight which will allow you to enter all sections of your trip.
Congratulations on getting married, and hope you have a great honeymoon, wherever you decide to go.0 -
Thank you very much, I will get searching with those tips in mind!

BA and AA can fly you direct. Try https://www.trailfinders.com and ask about return flights to Vegas with a free stopover in Chicago.
Chicago is a great city, can get very very cold and snowy in Winter though. 2 nights may not be long enough in Vegas though, perhaps 4 in CHI and 3 in Vegas. Weekend nights in Vegas are more expensive. So perhaps stay in Chicago Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues and Vegas Wed, Thurs, Fri.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks for the help. It looks like Virgin can fly direct too so a stopover would be very useful.
We're going in May next year so hopefully they will both be ok temperature wise! We're possibly looking at 8-10 days total, so thinking 5 in Chicago and 3 in Vegas. Will aim for mid-week too.
Cheers

I'd do it the opposite way round. Chicago is a cool city but 3 days will be enough. 5 in Vegas (Sun - Thurs) would be perfectretepetsir wrote: »Thanks for the help. It looks like Virgin can fly direct too so a stopover would be very useful.

agree with neilbond007...I grew up not far from Chicago but anytime we've visited it has only been for a few days and was more than enough...whereas Vegas we can't quite get enough of.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I'm not sure I can convince my fiancee to go to Vegas for that long, it was enough of a struggle to get her to go to Vegas in the first place!
Maybe Chicago, Vegas then New York on the way back? I know I'll love Vegas, I'm not so sure my other half will though.

Right, I'm now looking at Chicago -> Vegas -> San Francisco then back to London
As SF is a main hub for United Airlines it seems to actually be £100 cheaper to do 3 destinations that 2!

Perhaps see if economy plus http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6867,1314,00.html is affordable for the SFO-LHR leg of the journey.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Thank you, I'll check that out
