You need to speak to agents personally.0

Hi, I live in a little cottage in the middle of nowhere in the Peak Park and this is my second such. Both of them I found in local papers - agents and the net were useless, and what I found there were really expensive. Although my first landlord uses the internet for all other purposes, he felt that he did better and that people who bothered to read the local papers were more likely to be his kind of tenant. This cottage I rent from a couple who don't use the internet for anything, in fact are even suspicious of banks. When I left my first cottage, the subsequent tenant was found by word of mouth - in rural places such as this, that is incredibly valuable. I've been told recently of a couple of possible places if I fancied moving - for now I don't as I've got my eye on somewhere that may become available next year - shhh!
The other place I often see ads is in village shop windows. Which area are you looking in and if it's anywhere near here I'll keep a look out. (pm me if you prefer). A friend who had a place to let, spoke to an agent who told him to do it up in a modern style, leather sofas and so on, before letting it. My friend was put off by having to do all this and ended up selling it. My house didn't even have any kitchen units in, just an ancient (meaning tatty dirty old, rather than shabby chic antique)sink in a corner. So be prepared to do some tarting up if you plan to stay long term. Renting in an area like this is a whole other world to renting in somewhere like London!!
So you need to get out there - the internet isn't the greatest place for these sorts of houses in my experience. However the chances of being able to keep pets is massively higher than in an urban area, I have a dog, cat, chickens and don't think my landlord would care if I had a herd of cows - the previous tenants kept pet deer!!!

We are finding very difficult too, we are looking for a 'no near neighbours' bungalow. They are so hard to find on rightmove. Zoopla is a bit easier but we still can't find anything. What really annoys me is that if you put bungalow they both come up with chalets as well lol.0
