I agree 'confessing' to how much money you spend really does cleanse your soul and make you think do I really need this? I'm new to this too and I've come a long way on my own but now I really believe I can become debt-free (hopefully via the 1 debt in 100 day challenge) as everybody here is wonderfully  supportive.

I don't know about you, but I can't talk to my family or friends about my debt. Money's always been seen as something very private for all of us. My OH is fabulous and we are tackling it together but I still feel quite alone (well not now joining MSE).

I too have never had a NSD before, and I'm new to Internet banking, so hopefully that'll make it easier to check-up on myself and keep the momentum going.

But definately try some of the challenges, it's really surprising how much they spur you on. I'm now treating my debt as a win-win game; it can only get smaller. :p

    Best of Luck,
