My first spending diary. August 2011 :)

1st £70.66 on groceries (but that'll last me for 2 weeks prob) £35 travelcard. Necessary unfortunately!

2nd £5ish on lunch as I forgot to take my sandwich I'd made. Annoying :( £2 milk and spaghetti at local shop

3rd £3.70 on postage

4th NSD YAY YAY YAY

5th £45 on bits for the house. Naughty I know but good bargains and really cheered me up and this was from my "eBay" money not on credit. I know it was naughty though. £17 on a round of drinks as I had to go out for a leaving do £4 on cigarettes

6th my second NSD!!! (have been thinking about this and it is quite possible that the two of these I have had this week since joining this site are the first two in YEARS. seriously. I've never seen a NSD as an achievement so would always be spending a few quid here and there)

7th £4.29 on bread and milk and some fruit etc. I'll use this to make sandwiches for the whole week though :)

    Wow thats fab.......well done.

Good idea to list your spends in your diary. Think i may pinch that idea. I do have a app on my phone and I do put in every penny spent. I will try putting it in my thread too and see if its helps me to be stronger.

Also must try harder on the NSD's, think the most I have managed is 3

Yeah give it a go! I know that for me, knowing that I'm going to confess to every penny I squander is certainly making me think twice!

  • You know that is actually an excellent idea. I also keep some record on the money I spend on stuff but I don't keep track of the money I spend each and every day.

Maybe I should also start a spending diary.
    :T

Good job anyhow and hang in there.

As long as you don't spend £6 every day on wine I wouldn't worry.
A little treat now and again is a good idea x
