Painting ceiling above shower

Probably a daft question but I want to repaint the ceiling in my shower room and am wondering how to access the area above the shower cubicle. It is a large walk in shower and the only way I can reach the ceiling above would be to put a step ladder inside the cubicle. Is it safe to do this? I am scared the legs of the ladder would go through the shower base!

Not unless it's an incredibly flimsy plastic tray. It's designed to take your weight when showering, plus a safety margin on top.
You can always put a sheet of scrap wood down as well to spread the load if worried. Just makes sure the step ladder can't slip.No free lunch, and no free laptop

No polite way of putting it, but the tray should be designed to take the weight of someone much larger than you. I don't think I've ever seen a thread with a tubby person complaining that they fell through their shower tray...
Though if you're really not confident you could get an extending pole roller thingy and stand outside the cubicle...0 -
I was just worried about all the weight being concentrated on the legs of my steps rather than being spread out. I'm not overweight :rotfl: so hopefully the combined weight of me and my steps shouldn't be too much.0
