Nightclub in Bournemouth - any recommendations for Birthday party?

Options
'Celebrating' my 30th at the end of the month... going to B'mouth :)

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good club thats open late near the centre that wont bankrupt us? Going on a Saturday night. Looking for 80's/90's music ideally and possibly somewhere you can "pre-book" (i.e. get discount and freebies!).

I know there are review sites but was hoping for personal reccomendation :)

Thanks
Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:

it's the "won't bankrupt you" comment that has just ruled out pretty much every club!

Elements/Disco Fever - costly to get in/costly drinks
Berlins or CensaI think now - wrong music I think, plus costly
Bumbles - well that's another story altogether
Jimmys - wrong music, expensive but does have reduced tickets if you eat at the restaurant

other options are some of the bars, they are open till 4/5AM and don't charge to get in Brasshouse/Bliss/Toko/Consortium/Litten Tree/Bar Vin/Walkabout but can always wander in and out until you find one you prefer(if any), out of the last list Toko would probably be closest to the bill, unless you love a good fight when Walkabout wins handsdown

Yeah - fighting wouldnt be good - which pretty much rules out Elements as well (someone was shot there once!?!?).

Heard of Consortium and is it any good? They have a disco night that night which sounds ok... :)

Trying to catre for several peoples taste is NEVER easy! lol

Oh - and should have a dancefloor as well so I can make a plonker out of myself! ;)

    Babbler.

Try 'Jumpin Jacks' its right near the pier, under the 'imax' cinema.

Plays 80s, 90s, some really cheesy, old school stuff, but is great for a laugh.

    Happy Birthday in advance!!
  • for a 30 year old best places to go would either be jumpin jaks or bumbles, hit the main strip up the top such as bar me, walkabout and it is full of young people say 18-20. As for fighting i have seen two fights and have been going out last couple of years since i turned 18

actually fair point I forgot about Jumpin Jaks, probably fits the bill, also from memory (we get forced there once a year for a friends birthday) they often will do a deal for a birthday if you contact them and say you have 7 or 8 going, even if it's only a couple of quid getting in. they normally also have 'bucket' deals at the bar which are slightly cheaper.

You're right about Elements shooting though it was a one-off really, they probably just got their bar bill for a few pints.

and robmc...barme seems to be more aimed at the 15-17 crowd from what I've ever seen going in there (Bumbles on the other hand is 50-70....;))
