Cheap and warm January- is there such a thing

Looking to find somewhere for a week in January or early Feb. Want to plan and buy it as a surprise for other half for xmas.
He dosnt like Egypt or Tunisia and I dont like the Canaries so Im a bit stuck as to where to go.
Would be grateful for suggestions for a nice place to go, near a beach and with a warm climate in Jan Feb.
As its only for a week I dont really want to go for anywhere a 9 hour flight away.
