Wickes kitchen contracted installer quote - WOW.

Ok guys if someone could just have a quick look through this quote i had for some work required in addition to fitting a new kitchen from Wickes.

Basically im having an external door bricked up, serving hatch blocked up, condenser boiler moved 3ft into the corner of the room along the same wall. This covers brickwork, electrical work and plastering. I must stress this is ontop of costs to fit the kitchen (which im happy with - £1900) but straight away i can see its wildly inflated. When i signed up to the kitchen i was quoted around £2700 to do this work, the contractors came round and without adding hardly anything work-wise, the cost has shot up to over £4000. I had a word with him stressing my concern and he wont budge even £1. I can understand it wont be easy to give an 100% accurate estimate on here but £760 to brick a door up and the old boiler flue area (13 odd bricks)?! £865 to plaster not even half a 3.5m x 3.5m room and ceiling:eek:?!

If i could kindly ask to have a look at the quote below - feel free to put in your own estimate beside his ones ;)

£865 to replaster half your kitchen is excessive. I paid about £600 for an entire 3.5m x 3m kitchen. The cost to fill a serving hatch was £65 + VAT. Get multiple quotes.

£2k tops for a builder and RGI to move the boiler.
Get some other quotes, as you could have the work done before the kitchen is installed.

Speak to the designer who sold you the kitchen, explain you think he is taking the !!!! with with some of the non standard pricing on the addtional works. It might get you somewhere, it would in my store!,especially if you threaten to cancel the kitchen because the add. works figure is unreasonably high.

Wickes standard additional works pricing is established so the fitters can't rip you off, but there a still a few who think they can with the non standard bits.

Had a local one who tried that on some of my customers. He no longer does. Not if he wants me to get him fits!
(As you may gather I work as a design consultant for Wickes and it !!!!es me off when the fitters try it on with the add. works!)

noone can give a quote on this.. and i dont use wikes any more.. kitchen designers dont have a clue 3 kitchens ive had and problems with the design of all, this is old i know but how can people on a forum know what work was needed doing. makes me laugh really.. id like to ring these people that give these answers and ask them to quote me.. and not look at the job.
bet they are different on the phone to clients wanting prices than clients that have had prices on here... i only signed up to comment..
also guy down south.. 250 quid for entire kitchen and ceiling.. think your daft in the head mate. or just telling porkeys , or not true spreaders. ill tell you if it was a good job.. never read so much rubbish in all my life,,
