At long bl%%dy last it looks as though the BTL brigade are jumping ship . As I have said before 10 years ago there were only 70,000 BTL mortgages now there is 700,000. Now things will get interesting

I do hope so lypsey - for the sake of your mental health. Unfortunately, BTL "only" makes up 8% of the market, so I'm not sure any fallout will have the massive effect you seem to crave.0 -
Interestingly that article makes no mention of the people selling being BTL owners.A house isn't a home without a cat.

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

ErmHenry Pryor, founder of one of the UK's biggest property websites, says a rush of sellers among home owners who believe the boom has passed its peak is threatening to produce a glut that will push prices down.
'We may look back and say the fourth quarter of 2006 was the peak,' he told the Financial Times.
Pryor, whose website primemove.com
Ive never heard of Primemove.com - have you? Hardly one of the biggest property websites in the UK IMHO
I like to think im now savvy enough to take what the daily mail says on property prices with the largest fistful of salt that I can muster. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I have heard of it, but, let me put it this way, I've not bookmarked itlynzpower wrote:.....Ive never heard of Primemove.com - have you? Hardly one of the biggest property websites in the UK IMHO
I've long held the opinion that 1. any story will do and 2. In x years time we can dig out a story we ran x years ago and say "we were right" (the fact that there was a contradictory story in the same issue / week / month will be forgotten by 99.9% of readers)lynzpower wrote:I like to think im now savvy enough to take what the daily mail says on property prices with the largest fistful of salt that I can muster.A house isn't a home without a cat.

That article has all the hallmarkings of a "press release". Primemove's PR agents have sent an identicle article to every newspaper in the Country and the Daily Mail have decided to print it as "news".
Clearly, the Mail had nothing else they thought worth printing today.
And, of course, the "article" is just one person's opinion.
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Guys, please tread softly as you are treading on lypsey's dreams - please remember that. 0 -
Nice advert for Primemove, though. I like the browse tool, especially to exactly how close a house is to the station.
I don't think it really adds weight to your argument to quote the Daily Mail, the kings of sensationalist rubbish.0
