Still..... Immigration and multiculturalism are a wonderful thing, aren't they?
If you live in London, it is easy to forget how very different the rest of the country looks, and also how London is viewed from outside. It doesn't matter what your skin colour or cultural background is, what's the excuse for civil disobedience?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Civil disobedience is what Ghandi promoted - it is a form of peaceful protest (think sit ins and hunger strikes) and very different to criminal damage, theft and violence.
Please don't confuse the two!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Its deplorable. The police are all over London day and night. How they weren't there in seconds is beyond me.
Its nice to see that the shop called "Loot" escaped to the looting.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

That may or may not be the case - but to throw this into a tragic story less than 24 hrs after the event smacks of opportunism and even poorer taste !
(The polar bear didn't go "mad" - these are extremely dangerous animals - it was doing what comes naturally - looking for a meal)0 -
Maybe the leechers should have looted the library instead, and got a higher IQ from reading the books0

Yet another good reason why I'm happy to live outside London.

It's funny how the death of criminal causes a riot, yet the banks bring down the economy, our taxes rise, we get involved in !!!!!!!! wars and nobody bats an eyelid!0

The banks bringing down the economy, the tax rises, the cuts in services, the ever increasing gap between the filthy rich and the normal working man is exactly why there is rioting. It was only a matter of time and it will only get worse unfortunately. There will be an element who are simply criminals but those who believe that there are only criminals involved and there is no reason for this to happen are living in cloud cuckoo land. There IS a political slant to this. It's cause and effect. There comes a time when people feel like they have little alternative to make themselves heard. I'm not saying it's right but it's reality.
I feel bad for people who have had their property or businesses damaged, it's not their fault, they are caught in the middle.0
