    Most of the things that you say you do not wish to discuss with the developer are already a matter of public record so there is nothing to gain from skating over the facts.

    A quick look at the Land Registry site should show you that the developer probably already knows all there is to know about your property, from your mortgage company and the date you moved in to your inside leg measurement ...!

    Ha , yeah i see what you mean.

    And i agree, no one can say excactly what the outcome will be until a decision is made and papers signed, i guess all cases are different somewhat.

    Nail on the head. I've looked at sites worth £20m/acre and other sites worth £200,000/acre - it all depends on what the developer is able to build on the site and what the potential end values are.

    Also, don't automatically assume your house is worth anything to the developer, it might not be.
