    Is anyone aware of what the situation is if you connect up non-MCS approved panels to the grid (assuming for the moment that this is done through a type-approved inverter)

    Is it legally possible to simply 'net meter' - that is to offset incoming and outgoing electricity.

    Or is the best you can get 'generation' rates of some 3p/kWh, and the company could in principle regard this as 'stealing' the difference if you were just to connect to a normal meter and run it backwards.
