If they have been on means tested benefits long enough they'll also get HB and CT run on.0 -

True I did get a 6 week extension to my housing benefit last time, however, it was immediately cancelled upon employment and I had to go beg for it and fill out numerous forms.
What ever happened to common sense?0 -
Back when I was on unemployment benefit (YEARS ago now....) there was the provision by the, then, DHSS to continue paying claimants for a while (think it was 2 weeks?) after they started work.
I never darn well found out about it at the time - because it was one of those things they knew darn well about but had a policy of not giving people unless they specifically asked for it. So the DWP (as is now) still owes me that money from back then - but it wasnt possible to get them to backdate it, when I eventually found out about it of myself...
Is this facility still available nowadays? Not sure whether it is (and you'd still have to specifically ask for it - because they deliberately wouldnt tell you) or has it gone as part of the huge round of unemployment benefit cuts there have been over the last 25 odd years?0 -

You get £100 paid into your bank like I have stated here0 -
they dont if they are not the tenant. even if the actual tenant is on benefits they still whack it right up from day one. if the person earning a wage refuses to pay the the tenant on benefits gets taken to court. If they have been on means tested benefits long enough they'll also get HB and CT run on.0 -
