Just back from work after 15 hour shift. 5 hours sleep and back to work in the riot gear. We beat the yobs on our London borough last night. Loads arrested, all our custody suites full of prisoners. Every group turned over really quick and build up points charged.

Feel sorry for Ealing next door, they got hit hard. 300 youths attacked a Sikh Temple, suspected islamic groups taking advantage. :( We got loads of their looters coming back through our patch with cars full of stolen gear.

Good on you brit1234. Everyone is behind you. It's obvious to all that the police are completely overstretched and simply don't have the resources to contain this. It's an impossible situation for you and fingers crossed the powers that be realise this and send in some form of reinforcements soon.

I know it'll be fine here. Rationally. But I still feel edgy.

Are you off on holiday this week? Seems a good plan.

    Brit is a policeman?????

    I feel a bit . I didn't expect that.

In anycase, good luck Brit. I think much of the country, is now behind some serious force, even if May doesn't want it.

Radio reposted friend of Marks family complaining that the family were at some protest, the police knew they were there, but didn't come over for a talk.....well, know.....they were trying to POLICE. Time and places.....but people want things NOW and on their terms. TBH, for even the most talented diplomat talking to a bereaved family.....(whatever the circumstances turn out to be) while worrying about London burning down would be hard.

What a legacy to leave...being the poor excuse for such frightful behaviour.

'London house prices to rise due to scarcity of non burned out properties' said Hamish McTavish from the Daily Express.

    Thank you Brit.

IMO the police are best placed to judge the response. My hope is that the only message we her out of cobra is that the government support whatever action the police deem necesary and that you are given free reign.

Personally I hope you roll out water cannons, dogs, horses, rubber bullets and anything else you have. Give them hell.
