I dont understand! I did all my claims by phone and they tell me their system is shafted so basically I have to fill them all in by hand anyway. Then they say that they cant get me an appointment to see an advisor till the 17th of Jan! then the forms take at least another 2 weeks from that date to process.
How do I pay the bills and the rent? I can get enough money to buy some food, but what about all my bills, I simply cant pay them.
The tax credits people have still not sent me my new claim pack, I dont live off fresh air, give me a break here!!
When I first went to the council they said as you want to claim income support you may as well just do it all by the above fab phone system, can I go back to the council and at least claim HB now? they said they only had a backlog of 3/4 days. Im so stressed out I cant even eat, which is quite lucky as it saves me some money, ha!!

Can you apply for a hardship payment as there is such a delay with the claims procedures? Ring your DSS office and ask for a crisis loan (or the equivalent if it has changed).

Thanks - I did try a few times, was told by recorded message that the lines were too busy call back later, then it hung up on me!
