A few Housing Benefit questions.

Yeah right. Set your sights a bit lower than Kensington and Chelsea. £250 per week is the maximum for the country. Trying to find a 1 bed flat in Kensington and Chelsea for £250 is going to be near impossible. There is a large population in London working working very hard for £250 a week a landlord will rent to them over you. The demand is too high. Try the outskirts of London. You'll have a better chance of securing somewhere.0

You need to remember that any claim to income related benefit benefit would take your partners income into consideration. It's likely that you will not be entiitled to JSA or full housing benefit.0

I don't intend to be on benefits for too long, so it would be silly of me to get an expensive place which I would have to pay for myself soon.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I didn't mention my partner on the application because I didn't think it was necessary, as she was a full-time student and thus wouldn't qualify for it. I hope this doesn't make it fraud.
This just keeps getting harder
If i'm not entitled to the JSA that EVERYBODY seems to be able to get just because of who my partner is then that's not fair.0 -
The 1 bedroom rate in Nottingham is £87.69. A quick google search shows that most of the good places are around the £90 to £100 mark. You will need to find the difference yourself. Your partners student loan income will reduce the amount of LHA you will be granted. Go to the council offices and ask them to do a calculation for you based on rent of £90 per week and see what they say.
Where did you get the figure of £87.69 from?
It's fine if her student loan reduces the LHA, but the big problem is that student loans don't come in until at least October!!!!0 -
this will detail what income they will include for means tested benefits - this will affect if you get any JSA and will reduce any housing benefit

Her loan will not only reduce the LHA but will also affect your ability to claim JSA. Be prepared to receive very little.0 -

You need to amend your application asap and include your partner, you'll struggle even more with finding work if you have a fraud conviction.
Did the forms not ask if you lived with anybody? I am sure they would do.0 -
You did lie to the DWP by not telling them you had a partner. Tell them on monday, so your claim can get amended. Her income is also taken into account for LHA too0
