Hedgehogs....why can't they just share??

I'm feeling realy jealous we have'nt any hedgehogs around at the moment.
A few years back we had two big ones and every night they'd come for the cat food I used to leave them,same time every night.
They were very tame and did'nt mind you stroking their little noses.
There was one evening they came and they had five little tichy baby ones toddling behind.
The babies were perfect little minature hedgehogs.
My cats were fascinated by them,never quite knowing how to treat them.

Bless em! I had a hedgehog free night last night after moving composting weeds away from back foor and keeping door shut after dusk. Put out some food and water at the back of the garden.
I do consider myself blessed to have them, but I worry about the 2 dogs next door getting hold of hoggies. Not sure who would come off worse though!

I'm a soft touch when it comes to animals and love wildlife. They don't 'alf make a mess of your carpets though.
