Surround sound units

Hi all
I have a Panasonic surround sound system, but the DVD drive in the main unit sounds as if it's about to break. It won't stay closed and I think it's the laser unit at fault.
So I'm looking at replacing the system as one of the options if it's quite expensive to have the DVD drive fixed/replaced but can't find anywhere that just sells the unit. Anyone know?

if you are going to replace it then I would be opening it up to see if the drive is fixable0

Would it not be a case of just buying a replacement drive?0

I had it open earlier and the drive open a d closes fine. It's when you close it, what I think is the laser is having the issues. I can't see it properly to see if it's caught on anything, or if anything has snapped off and broke0
