Morrisons used to reduce their sandwiches and cakes in their restaurant by 50% after 5pm, not sure if they still do this, as it is a while since I last went in there.

Our large Tesco does first reductions around lunch time, for some reason. No *real* super cheap bargains, but if it is on your list anyway then it is nice to find it cheap. Also, nearly all our meat is yellow stickered or on special. Having a big freezer is great - except when it needs defrosting and you have to eat your way through it all!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

:T thankyou inspired by this thread and armed with dd we managed to get bakery stuff reduced this afternoon (3.30pm) in Tescooo,,finest crossiants x 4, danish pastries x14! ,cookies x 4 pkts 10 small ones ,doughnuts x 8,scones x4 and 24 small muffins all 10p -14p!! also got 3 pkts of rolls,2 loaves of hovis and one fruit loaf all 20- 24p I have frozen the bread scones and muffins and 2 crossiants. I have frozen the bread scones and muffins and 2 crossiants.
This was a large tesco extra,,before anyone remarks about me leaving some for others to buy,,there were crates and crates of stuff reduced, plenty for all,,and the store closing. I took what I know our large family would eat and I could freeze,,these goodies at well over a £1 a pkt are not something I can normally afford.
I also got 2 cheese and onion tear and share long loafs for 20p each,,but it says not suitable for home freezing,,was gonna chuck it in freezer anyway but wondered if anyone on here knows why? It has cheese spread as an ingredient so maybe thats why? any help or advice would be appreciated,,if not it will be cooked for lunch /tea tomorrow ,,got a huge salmon reduced last sunday late afternoon in costco,,was £9!! Ate half & froze half, just took it out freezer for tom tea :-)Life happens when you are busy making other plans

the way to look at it is if its not very nice once defrosted then you haven't lost a lot of money and if it is then you are on a winner0

My Tesco is rubbish for reducing things now, they were fine up until a month ago when you could get bakery stuff for 10p and the meat, fruit and veg were really well discounted, but now you are lucky to get 50p off things. I saw afree range chicken in the reduced section yesterday, it wasnt that big, for £9.45!!! I wouldnt pay that for full price never mind reduced.
I dont know why they have stopped the reductions now but was wondering if its because some people who must have businesses were going in with the big trolleys and clearing the shelves, you cant possibly need a large full trolley of bread every day or piles and piles of sliced meats
so im a bit ticked off with our tesco and really jealous when reading about everyone elses bargainskonMarie and fabbing all the way

My local Waitrose is good for shopping on Tuesdays! Can't afford to shop there the rest of the week, but they have some great reductions on Tuesdays....I buy anything that's a bargain and that I can freeze.Normal people worry me.0
