I have only just noticed recently that if you go to the supermaket at particular times (espeically after 6pm) You get some amazing bargains! Some bargains with lengthy time left before they go out of date and other bargains which usually you can freeze.
Today 2 large cuts of salmon fillets reduced from £4.99 to £2.21 doesnt go out of date for 2 more days and you can freeze it!
6 Squeezy yogurts. (freezable) was £1.71 now 78p
4 chicken fillets was £5.46 now £3.11
4 bacon pork pies was £2.99 now £0.98
Also got me.mum.bro.friends son a sandwich (ready made) all 4 came to £1.21 and should off been £4.00
Does anyone do this or has any one got good bargains in the past from this?

Agree with the freezing tip, but remember it's only a bargain if you would normally eat that food.
For me, the only real bargains would be cut-price fruit and veg, and good grainy bread.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I know after 6pm Asda reduce practically all bread I had a nice loaf of fresh granary bread cooked and sliced in store reduce to 12p from £1.00 i ate a few slices then froze the rest in sandwich bags with two bits of bread in each one, worked great for toast in the morning x I didnt look at the reduced fruit bit but the other day I did get a huge punnet of mushrooms that was reduced to 26p from 1.50 and the lasted a good two or three days I have mushrooms with most meals xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Love going to the supermarket after 6pm as my local is reducing the fancy breads which we love but refuse to pay £1.50 a loaf - manage to get 4 organic loaves of bread for 42p each last night - great for freezing (wish I had a chest freezer as I would of cleared the sleeves!)MFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200

Yeah the bakery is great for reduced stuff
hmmm not good for the waist line some times.
I have also noticed like if there has been a "event" like a charecter toy thing , home event , clothing sale , cleaning sale , if you go in two or three days after it you get some great bargains. xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Our Tescos have a reduced section but nothing there is under one pound and usually 2, 3 4 or moreWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Ours is the same. I used to be able to get some great bargains but now they're very rare, now they tend to just knock 50p off something that was originally £5.Our Tescos have a reduced section but nothing there is under one pound and usually 2, 3 4 or more
Every now and then I'll get a bit of veg or bread half price but never any meat, I think they'd rather chuck it out than sell it cheaply.
I wonder if it's up to each individual store how much they reduce by?Dum Spiro Spero0 -
My tesco express is better at reducing stuff then the super market itself.
I often get there pasta salads half price with a day to go on the date which i use for work the next day ect.NanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Our Tesco don't reduce by much but a trip to a smaller Express store did yield some great bargains in the bakery section one Sunday afternoon.
Our local Sainsbury's is good post 6pm but it's pot luck if they do it *at* 6pm or any time after (on one occasion it was 8.30pm.) Our bargains this week (albeit lots of ready meals so not exactly OS) were:

2 slices of berry cheesecake 40p

Shepherd's pIe 40p
2 fresh cream apple turnovers 35p
Vegetable curry 60p

Garlic and coriander naan bread 40p
6 basics mince pies 8pMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

My best ever bargains - a whole shoulder of lamb for 50p, 2 whole chickens for 50p each and 5 bundles of asparagus for 2p!! Them were the days....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
