Hi,
We lost our 12 year old Bedlington terrier x on Tuesday to cancer in her lungs.
On Wednesday my son and daughter were both out, my OH and I and our other dog Nash were all sitting down in the lounge when we heard my daughters bedroom door close ( now Sam our Lurcher normally does this when he sits down next to it) next we heard him scratching at the door, we presumed he decided he thought my daughter was in and wanted to go in her room, he did this about 6 times so my OH got up and found Sam shut inside her bedroom. He was scratching to get out not in.
Now her door opens outwards, it doesn't move on its own as its a bit snug on the carpet. So there is no way he could have done it himself and no one else was there. I dont tend to believe in ghosts or things like that but we cant help thinking this may have been her letting us know she was around and having a laugh as Sam's expense.
There is no logical answer to how it happened and its not closed itself since...weird :A
RIP Blackie....was at work on Friday when a dog just like her walked in, lost the plot a little........

Well, I can't say that I've ever 'felt' our dear cat come back but there were 2 strange things that happened straight after she passed away. Little bit of background info first, we have another 2 cats and the 3 cats never ever got on. The one that passed away, was the cleverest of them all by far and a bit cheeky too, she used to sit aside by the catflap (inside so she could not be seen from the outside) and box the flap when she saw one of the others trying to come in, so that the flap would hit their face.... It really was quite funny.
Anyway, the morning after she passed away, my husband was giving breakfast to the other two. There were 3 bowls; 2 ceramic and 1 stainless steel. He thought that now that our beloved cat had gone, he'll put away the stainless steel bowl and use Noppa's old bowl for one of the other cats. Well, as he was about to fill the bowl, somehow it slipped from his hands and it broke in half, even if it did not drop from far. Co-incidence perhaps, but we thought that Noppa was letting us know that she did not approve her bowl being given to one of the others!
The day after that, I happened to be in a kitchen and one of the cats was circling the kitchen door as to wanting to go out - I said to her, why don't you just use the catflap and poked my finger on the flap - only to see that it was locked. That's something I can not explain. It was absolutely fine in the morning, nobody had been in during the day and I had not done any cleaning after work or been near it that it might have locked it by accident. Made me think of Noppa's game of boxing the catflap...
Anyway, after that no other incidents occurred. I might be reading too much to the above, who knows? We still miss our girl enourmously - always felt she went before her time (at 12 yrs).0 -
Yes we have! No time to fill in detail but, please say a mental 'thank you' to your dear friend and hopefully having been so successful first time, she'll 'visit' you again. xx0

When one of my guinea pigs died in the vet (he was in to be put on oxygen) I was walking back to the car and said to mum 'We need to get home theres a message on the machine from the vet' of course she told me I was being silly there's no way I would know that but I just felt my boy was with me and something felt different.. Well we get back home and there was a message on the machine saying he had died. Mum couldn't believe it but I had such a close bond with my wee man!0

I'm a big sceptic when it comes to the supernatural... but I've felt my little JRT Pip snuffling sleepily on my shoulder, just like she used to do as a pup.. and she died 5 years ago aged 20 years old

There is no afterlife..... but I've caught a glimpse of one of my old dogs a few times, just from the corner of my eye. I've also felt a cat at the foot of my bed many times - when there was nothing there to see. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

This has happened to me too......years ago my beloved dog Stanley was really sick and had been taken to the vets so I went over to stay at a friends house while my parents drove him there....I was drawn to the window as the clouds and sky looked so beautiful..at that moment I knew he was gone but it felt ok like he was telling me it was fine...
When my parents came back I told them I knew he was gone and asked what time she said he had died peacefully in the car on the way there at the exact time I had gone to the window...he used to come and visit me after this whenever I was upset about him and often I'd be sitting in the chair anand ten he wouldd know he was sat next to me when he used to...our cat Harvey died a little while after but we think he missed Stanley so much as he used to mope around waiting for him..after Harvey passed we used to feel him there too always on the rug where he used to sit too...
I found it so comforting and it's so lovely to think they would still want to come back and visit us.
XxA lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."0 -
Dear old cat Jack had been in decline, and at the end he could barely walk so, we had to lift him outside to take the fresh air and do his stuff, so we knew it was time and resolved the next day it was that hard, hard last journey to the vets.
The night before, he suddenly "perked up", he went to all his favourite spots in the garden, he went next door (both ways) and also next door but two to the lady who used to feed him when we were away.
He stopped awhile there at each of those persons he loved and he said goodbye.
The next day he was ready, and we said goodbye.
I'll never be able to rationalise it, but I saw it with my own eyes.0 -
We lost our ten month old kitten in March to hepatitis. He was a very ill little man for most of his life and ran up a large insurance claim, but it was still a horrible shock when he went desperately downhill and our vet said our only option left was PTS.
We have another kitten now, and we're quite convinced Nova is still with us. There have been nights when I've felt the cat on my feet but heard her on the landing eating out of her dish, or heard running paws up and down the stairs. We've even had visitors ask if we've got a second cat because they've seen Lexie downstairs tarting for affection, but have heard a thud like a cat jumping off the bed and feet running down the stairs.
I like to think Nova is still around, and I know there are people who will think I'm nuts or deluding myself, but I'm not hurting anyone and the thought gives me comfort and has helped me cope with the loss of a much beloved pet

Since we lost our Connie, rottiexlab at nearly 16, more than 10 years ago now, I have had occasions when I have seen her out of the corner of my eye or felt her brush past me. Im a sceptic, but it happens.0

Yes I too have felt the padding of paws on the bed, quite firm they were too. And whilst in the garden seeing the 2 shadows of dear old murphy dog following dear charlie cat in the open back door. It was enough to get me up off my chair to investigate and make sure no other animals had got in the garden, of course, there wasn't.0
