need some consumer advice on fishing equipment

longish story sorry,

i decided to treat myself to a new carbon fibre fishing pole and after a few months saving decided to buy a map (match angling products) pole but second hand, its was in perfect condition and i mean pefect condition ! there is no sob story about being ripped off from the seller, however the pole itself has had 2 major problems with it,

the pole was only released in january 2010 so even if this pole was the very first pole that ever left the factory would only be just over 18 months old , im trying to contact the seller too as i tap this out for any paperwork he can give me ,

the pole itself is just poorly built and costs over a thousand pounds in the shops today, there seems to be problem with the quality of this pole, this is their very best pole theyve ever built they say, their flagship pole infact.

do i have any legal rights regarding this product even though i bought it second hand, i honestly dont know ???

Assuming you bought it from an individual and not a business: no, not against the manufacturer.

Are you certain it is genuine? I know nothing about fishing poles, but I do know that high-value items like this are often copied in the Far East and passed off as genuine.

If you are ~certain~ it's geniune then I'd contact the maker. If they care about their reputation, they may be willing to exchange it for you as a gesture of goodwill.

well any seller is going to still tell you its genuine, a receipt can be forged thats if the seller actually sends you a recipt.

as fwor says contact the makers who will be able to tell you if its genuine or not

i understand your thinking its not genuine, but its definitly genuine and along with the fishing tackle shop he bought it from he is sending me visa card receipts too.

    thanks for the replies
