Santander - worst bank ever! Bank Charges advice...

  • Hi

Well my overdraft was up for yearly review, however the reasoning behind not allowing me to have the limit I was currently on was "too many charges" due to bank charges for going over my overdraft..
I contacted the CEO, as I am primarily wanting to claim back the bank charges, but I also saw on other members' posts that they had their overdrafts cleared aswell... So I guess I was hoping this would happen in my case, as otherwise it will take me a very long time to clear it, aswell as the continual unauthorised fees that will mount up... All because of bank charges for silly amounts.
I have had to switch direct debits to a cardcash account aswell..

I have requested a list of all charges so I guess I will have to go down the route of sending letters etc.. I thought I would have heard back off the CEO or likewise. :( but I guess its a waiting game now!

    Wow, pleased I found this!

We have been charged £80 this month for going £24 over our overdraft - this is even though they had agreed to override these fees!

We are also going to be charged £134 next month as we went £32 over our limit last month.

We are on our knees at the moment and this is making it 100 x worse - we are going to go over again next month as I dont have £134 to pay these fees so its a vicious cycle.

I wish I had never switched to Santander..... I realise now why they had to lure people in with £100.
