Bidding and Banding Systems

Hello everyone.
This is going to be a bit of a long shot but here goes anyway.
My DH and I live with his parents in a detached house. We need to move out because my disabilities mean that I can't handle the stairs anymore and we need our own space.
We're on the Homefinder Somerset thing and our banding is Silver with a medical need to move.
We would ideally like to stay in the village (but properties never come up that we are suitable for in the village) or move to one of the surrounding towns.
We never make it to the top of the list though when bidding on surrounding town properties.
However, some new homes have just been built in the village and I received a letter to say that they would be going up on the Homefinder website.
My question is: Are local connections taken into consideration when bidding on properties and the eventual place you end up on on the list?
As I said we've on the silver band but we have strong connections to the village. Is it possible to be on silver banding but with strong local connections moving you up the list?
We've been on the list forever it seems and I know that there are those more in need of us but as I said I have disabilities and our current housing isn't suitable.
Thank you very much in advance.

I believe that the local connection is included in your banding if it's taken into consideration at all. Just keep an eagle eye out on the site for the properties to be listed and get in there asap with your bid.0

We always dobut how fast you put your bid in isn't counted towards what place your bid is put.
The website says that your bid will still be the same whether you bid at 12:01 on Wednesday when the properties go up or Sunday at 11:59 when the properties come down.2019 Wins

I've just looked online at the press release of the new homes and they said that they'll be primarily available to those with strong village connections which my DH and I have so here's hoping.
Would be nice to have some good luck for a change.:o2019 Wins

You could try moving up a band, have you tried submitted supporting letters from your GP/ consultant/ specialist nurse? Go for all three if you can!0
