Any idea how much this would cost?

We've got 2 showers in the house, one has a broken thermostat so temperature is scorching and shower is unusable. The other shower has a low water pressure- literally drips. I would like an idea if a) I can fix this myself (would need guidance) and b) how much you think an estimate would come to?

Thanks a lot :)

If you are competent and confident to undertake your own plumbing then you can buy a mixer bar kit from £40 at tool station (the mixer bar is ok but the riser bar and fittings are v.plasticy). The low pressure problem might require a pump to be fitted, for £120 from same source as mixer kit. However, this will probably be too involved for a diyer. If you go down the route of pumping the shower, you might want to consider paying £175 for a pump that will do both showers? The pumps mentioned are Salamander pumps and I have used them regularly and found them to be quite reliable.
As for cost of installing them that will vary depending on location and how much extra piping is required. Best to sort it out before decorating.
Remember to get at least 3 quotes!!

    Good luck.

Thanks, yes we did descale the shower heads, little response from that. I'm not confident at DIY not if I don't know what I'm doing, we have a tank in the attic and an immersion boiler. I know for definite we don't have a combi boiler.
