Courgette glut here! and bean glut! and tomato glut! More than we can eat of everything really.

I have a few decent size courgetts growing, however, many of the leaves have turned white. What does this mean, i read somewhere it could be a fungus, so cut off all the leaves for the compost bin. Is the vegetable still safe to eat?

So far three tiddlers only. Last year I had over 13 kilos! This has been a terrible year for courgettes here - all my friends who grow courgettes say the same. I'm in Fife.
PS French beans very poor as well. Rasps and mange tout a success though.

Up until about 5 weeks ago we had nothing.
Now we are overrun with the bleeping things.

I swear someone is coming in overnight and sticking more to the plants.

I can't give them away fast enough

my courgettes have done very well but i am down south! they are starting to get a powdery residue on the leaves now does that mean that they are coming to an end?

I'm down south and having the exact same problem.

Haven't had a single courgette. Had loads of flowers on them though and without fail, every single flower has formed, opened into a beautiful large flower, closed and then dropped off the following day.

I binned them yesterday after getting up to find yet more flower heads on the floor.

I've got 2 plants and they are producing more than I can keep up with, every week I harvest about a dozen of the things.

Potatoes have been amazing this year too - 70lbs out of a 8x4ft bed.

Rasp not doing well, planted last winter but a third of the plants seem to be dying off.

More lettuce than anyone can eat and the same for spinach and chard.

Not so many beans though and beetroots are small this year.
