Dehimudifier might be helpful. They don't cool the air (actually they can give off heat) but they do reduce humidity meaning you can cool naturally by pirspiration.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

what jennifernil has said is spot on - my folks had a similar problem, and added outside shutters to the windows, but if it's for a usuable room you don't really want to be sitting in the dark!! in that house they also installed some floor vents (suspended timber floor) that could be manually closed so they were taking air from the cool floor space, then having the loft hatch opened, would draw a fair amount of air through the house and a very low tech approach!This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
