Help me choose all in one printer with cheap ink

I need a printer/scanner/copier which is cheap to use ink wise. I do a lot of black and white printing with occasional colour. Would also like a card reader if possible.
My last was a Lexmark 6650 which did everything I required but the ink was so expensive.
Any suggestions please?

look at epson , then go to ebay and check the prices for compatibles, i personally use a company called INK-POWER
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/INK-POWER?_rdc=1
whilst not the cheapest i've not had one single problem with their cartridges for my epson sx200 printer. they work straight out the bag.
these are 14 cartridges for £7.99 and compatible with the following printers the W stands for wireless.
S20 SX100 SX105 SX200 SX205 SX400 SX405 SX600FW BX300F S21 SX110 SX115 SX215 SX410 SX415 SX515W SX209 SX405 WiFi
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/whatsupink?_rdc=1another seller of ink, cheaper than the previous one, bu i havent bought from them yet.
18ml per cartridge. except black which is 19ml, and 20 cartridges for £9.88 makes them 50p each

Agree with the above Epson ink cartridges are generally cheap if you can get the compatibles to work on your printer, they might not work everytime but the save you a lot of money T0711-T0714 printers are the most popular with the new T1281-T1285 printers taking compatibles and some of these you can get from 0.99p a cartridge in places like ebay and amazon or if you put cheap printer ink in google!Every Little helps :rotfl:0

I just wouldn't believe the hype about Kodak. I have one of their printers and they appear to go through ink much quicker than others.0

I recently got an Epson Stylus Photo PX720WD http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003YLHWFS/ref=oss_product
Might be a bit more expensive than you need but has wireless printing and can print directly onto cds and dvds and best of all, £5 for a set of 6 cartridges.0 -
What about something a bit different? I bought a refurbished Canon LBP3010 laser printer from the Canon shop on ebay for £30 delivered. It comes with a cartridge good enough for 700 pages and a new toner (for 2000 pages) costs about £20 delivered. OK it's not colour and it doesn't have a scanner but it's very fast and beautiful print quality. You would be hard put to beat that in terms of price and quality.
As far as Epson goes, my wife uses an SX215 which is ok but we have found that using non epson cartridges means that if one goes you have to replace them all, which is a right pain.0 -

When you need to replace a cartridge, remove all of them, switch the printer off for a minute or so, switch it on, wait for it to ask for ink, install the cartridges.
Which make are they?0 -
We have an Epson printer at the moment, just a cheap printer we picked up and are able to get really cheap ink cartridges off eBay. My sister does to and she has an Epson that is a printer/scanner etc. We've just ordered 10 for about £7 and they tend to last us ages. So far not had any problems with them, and even if one was a duff cartridge at that kind of money it doesn't matter when you think how much some printer cartridges cost. I'd definitely consider another Epson just for the fact that you can pick up cheap cartridges.0
