Hi there
I am wanting to take the family to France this October half term for a week, 2 adults 2 kids. I am looking at renting a gite/cottage for the duration, and have looked at various sites and the prices seem reasonable. We would be arriving at Calais by car.
I am wanting to be within 2 hrs drive of Paris & Euro Disney aswell do can we can have a few days trips there. As I have never been to France before was wondering what the best area/region of France to stay bearing in mind I want to a bit of the French countryside too!
Thanks for any help!

Depends what you want, quiet rest or town nightlife? Then check that things are open in October, many French tourist attractions shut or run a reduced service in Oct.0

Thanks Knightstyle-it was more of a relaxing break-I didnt realise things quieten down in Oct- it was either France of Wales for our Oct break, so we may end up in Wales I think!

Still plenty to do in Paris, Disneyland, Reims I would guess, But yes always worth a double check of their websites for opening details.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
You could get down as far as say Troyes or Orleans with about a 2hr drive into DLP/ Weather mnay eb mixed at that tiome of year but should be warmer than southern UK still.
Downside is you have a longer drive from Calais either way0 -
this might help - gives details of 8 campsites around the Disneyland Paris area -
