Not technically coupon related and I don't have an Asda (Not close enough to bother - Have I mentioned this before :mad:) but the APG states - 'In order for your shopping to be eligible for the Asda Price Guarantee, you need to have bought at least 8 different items, of which at least 1 should be comparable to the above competitors.' - So as I understand it you don't need to buy any more than 8 different items so buying cheap SP items that you don't actually want/need seems pointless so no need to worry if one that you are buying doesn't compare as long as you buy the minimum 8 different items

    That explanation is right.

You have to have 8 items that appear on Asda section of MySupermarket - This Water doesn't although it does appear on Tesco and Sainsbury sections. Therefore if you only have 8 items and one of them is This Water you are unable to carry out an APG. HTH :)

    That explanation is wrong.

No, that explanation was wrong. To qualify for APG you have to buy 8 separate items. They don't have to be on the 'Asda section of MySupermarket' to qualify as one of those 8 items. In fact they don't have to be on the 'Asda section of MySupermarket' to be comparable and generate an APG refund. You've drawn the wrong conclusions from your 'This Water' problems.

So can you explain exactly why my receipt of 8 items including This Water wasn't valid?

Asda decide which 8 items are comparable. I have had 10 items on a receipt before and they have told me I don't have the 8 items that qualify for comparison.
