  • First of all, I have to say a HUGE thank you to CW & MT for maintaining this thread, I am so grateful you guys keep it going.

This thread has been a lifesaver for me - for various reasons (which I won't go into), I am at present having to survive on about £20 pm for all my groceries, so the coupons & the info I find here have helped me do it without getting even further into debt, particularly when there are offers which make the product free. Yes, I am stockpiling some stuff (I have washing powder, softener & fairy to last me for a yr, lol), but I try to use just a few coupons each time I shop, I just shop more often (yes, I realise I am lucky with 2 fairly large supermarkets within a half hours walk away).

Today, I had (free) shreddies for breakfast, (free) soup for lunch, with a slice of bread made from the mix I got for 13p. Unfortunately, yesterday, I wasn't able to get any soup because the shelves had been cleared. I'm going back today and tomorrow in the hope that they will have more stock.

I know that there have been some people who have been abusing the system (and boasting about it) - that's human nature for you, and it's never going to stop. There are selfish, greedy people in Government, big business, banking, everywhere. But, those of you who say you have posted a coupon but then regret it because of the abuse, or you've seen a coupon but you don't want it to be abused, so won't share it, please remember those, like me, who are forever in the debt of those who post coupons, because of the gift they have given.

Please don't punish the majority for the faults of the minority.

    Thanks XX

  • I was hoping to get that kinda email back from Mr T's, so I would have something in writing in case of getting trouted again, but I just sent it to them via the contact form on the website and they called me back *doh* very quickly it has to be said, but I was really wanting something in writing, ah well never mind. Think I'll give that particular Mr T's a miss for a bit and head to one of the others, seeing as we're spoilt for choice here in this 'tesco town' ;)

  • I'm thinking of putting a thred on grabbits to say that coupons already have a forum as it is getting annoying on there now. I just wanted to ask regulars on here first if they would prefer if I didn't?

Hi everyone. I've been keeping up with this thread for the past week or so and thought it was about time I said hi. Just wanted to say thanks for this wonderful thread. I only started actively searching for coupons a few weeks ago and am enjoying saving a couple of quid on what I was going to buy anyway! However, I do totally agree that there should maybe be a sticky thread that explains why it is so important not to overuse coupons. I still haven't been able to try any honey shreddies, as I guess some people have taken more than their fair share. It's no wonder the riots occurred, as it seems there are a lot of greedy people in the UK!

Anyhoo, I was just wondering. Do new coupons tend to come out at the start of every month, because I wanted to try and find some new coupons to post myself, but couldn't really find anything.

this one is even better, wow look at all the extra added freebie vouchers you get, its like a running list of the first pages on here. as sad as it maybe i think pdfs may need to come to an end before this daft behaviour will stop. just please dont let them have ruined it for everyone using safe coupons. before today i was feeling guilty at picking up a thiswater & cean spray with most shopping trips (2/3 times a week when i need bread etc) but at least those vouchers are all legitimately won.
That one contravenes Ebay's listing rules so can be reported.

""All coupons tendered at self-scan will require authorisation. This means with each coupon scanned, the system will automatically trigger an intervention and the host must authorise"".

Thats useful to know. You can then prepare the explanation and insist they stay to put through any subsequent coupons.
Not in my Asda they don't (thankfully!). I hate the self scan machines with a passion and am always told to use them by the SA's. I often find myself shouting back at them when they tell me to do something :o
