Aldermore - paying into fixed rate account

Hi
Just a quick question to those who have experience with transfering the opening deposit from Halifax to Aldermore's 1 year fixed rate savings account.
If I wanted to say transfer 50K, could I do this in one shot from Halifax by BACS?
If not, I guess the other solution would be to pull funds from Halifax into Aldermore by direct debit - what limits are there and how long does it take to setup?
Thanks

I had this problem with NatWest saver which has a £10k a day withdrawal limit and does not accept DDs. The nice people at Aldermore helped sort it by opening an Aldermore instant access account for me to transfer the funds into and then transferred the total from there to the fixed account once all hte funds were in ... a little lost interest to be sure but it worked and a lot less hassle than having multiple fixed rate accounts opened on consecutive days ... Don't know about the Halifax restrictions but am sure you can find a way round it!0

There's a daily limit of £15,000 per day on BACS from Halifax Current Account. No limit on CHAPS, but £25 charge and you'd have to go into branch for CHAPS. Sounds like the best option is to do what post #2 suggested.0
