Having a problem, keyboard has gone foreign

for some reason my laptop is displaying # instead of a pound sign.

I use windows 7 premium.

Any help on how to put it back?

Think my DD might of changed something.. :o

    Control Panel > Region and Languages > Keyboards and Langauges > Change keyboards

    then select UK layout

    Whatever you do don't select French , the qwerty becomes azerty and the #/£ becomes an unsustainable euro. :p

    Arghhhh it's already set to English (united states) - united kingdom .... the next option is English (united states) - us ?

    It should be English (United Kingdom). Have you scrolled down the list of languages to see it if is there, the US English settings you can see might be at the top of the list rather than just where they should be alphabetically.

    Or maybe you need to select 'Add' and add UK layout? Though if the keyboard was OK before, I would have thought it would already have UK keyboard installed.
