    Thanks for that.
My head is saying you're all right but my heart is saying go for it. It's just the affordability factor. A big factor I know. The school situation does make me feel abit more panicky about it because the difference in quality is like night and day, but got abit of time to play with.
Good to hear similar stories that have turned out for the best. I suppose most things are out of our hands when it comes to house buying. x

Just one other thing. The estate agent, who you would imagine has their finger on the pulse, seems to think the house wont sell because she said she will contact us if the price goes down. They actually advised Barretts to accept our offer as it was a no brainer! Makes Barretts seem even more unreasonable.

The moment you said perfect home I assume you're thinking with your heart not your head.

    STOP.

    Go view some other properties.
    Is this one unique?
How does it compare floor space wise? etc with others?

How many have you viewed up until now?
Is someone in the house pregnant (That apparently can make you love every house)

We've viewed it twice and get a nice feel for it. Both times we bumped in to the neighbours and they were lovely. We've only viewed 3 otheres in the price range and this is far better for the price. Only 2 things negative are very small 3rd bedroom, and a garden that isn't very child friendly but we can work on the latter. I suppose we've thought we could get a good deal with it being empty, and now we're comparing all others unfavourably to this one. Barretts have the property up with 2 estate agents.
I know we're thinking with our hearts and we've got to stop that, but just finding it difficult.
  • An extra 5k will hardly add anything to your monthly repayments, when everything else is perfect it seems shame to lose it for just 5k, i know i spent ages i.e. 1yr+ trying to find a place that met all my requirements and only found 1/2 flats in that time i wanted, so depending on the area etc people telling u u'l find something similar are not necessarily correct

I know £5k seems like buttons but we've already stretched so far. I'd hate to lose out for £5k and regret it.
Then again if we wait Barretts may be more flexible? Am I being too optimistic?
Anyone been in a similar postion?

[1] Good point. Looking at the times that phrase is used, I would have to agree. If anyone finds a house which has 9 of their top 10 required or desirable feature, they are doing well. If they get 10, then there will be something they don't like which they had not thought of.

[2] Interesting. Must be pheromones. I can see Estate Agents supplying an aerosol spray for this ... Second thoughts, no one would accept an offer or move out.
