Vent: thieves

I am having the poorest day I have had in quite a while. In the grand scheme of things, not very poor at all and there are plenty of people worse off than me but I'm going to take the Vent forum at face value.

To start with I had an unpleasant day at work. It was my last day before I take some annual leave and for once I thought I had just the right amount of work to do to make sure I left on a good note, all organised and ready to relax. Not so, I was stressed to the hilt.

I got finished over an hour after I planned to, but never mind, my mum had travelled through to see me and she had taken through a box of things I had ordered for my OH's birthday and had delivered to theirs, along with a few other things for me. However, we realised after we'd had a meal at a Wetherspoons that we had left the bag behind when we had moved to a cleaner table and sure enough, someone had nicked it. The manager acknowledged that it was a bit of a rubbish situation, offered his apologies and walked off. So now my bf has no presents to open on his birthday. Ruddy thieves made me so mad/upset

Then I got home, with 1001 other things to get organised before bed, to find that my router had packed in again. I didn't let this finsh me off though (obviously...) and I'm currently using my phone to get online.

Anyway, that's made me feel a bit calmer. Who else has had an abysmal day? Or maybe someone's had a terrific day, that might make me feel better :o

  • That does sound like a rubbish day! You're right in saying that there are always people worse off, but that doesn't mean you can't have a good vent.

I'm sure your bf will be understanding about his gifts - at least he will if he's a decent chap and deserves you!

My day was unremarkable so nothing to cheer you up/commiserate here...hopefully tomorrow will be a terrific day!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Aww thank you. Yeah bf is very understanding, either that or he wanted to get his tearful gf off the phone :rotfl:

It's not so much the cost as they were just a few small things so he had something to unwrap as his main present isn't coming on time, but it's the principle of someone taking our things while we were sat 6 feet away that is upsetting me!

People will take anything that isn't nailed down, and sometimes even that doesn't stop them! But what goes around comes around so the thieves will get theirs : )
  • I've had things stolen before too and it feels like a violation regardless of the value of what they took.

I sympathise and just hope they suffer for it at some point!
