Loft door

I need a replacement loft door and was wondering where the best place to get one was?
Currently it's just a piece of wood with hinges and a latch, suppose I could do the same again, will B&Q cut me some to the size if I measure it?
I've spotted one at Screwfix for £28.50 (http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/sea/searchresults.jsp;jsessionid=KA1FB5TBZG3EYCSTHZPCFFQ?_dyncharset=UTF-8&howMany=15&searchText=insulated+loft+door)

If the Screwfix one is the correct size then that's the better bet as it's insulated & has a seal - a simple plywood board will always let through drafts, especially as cold air falls.0

Hi
You could always add some insulation to the loft hatch and seal with draft excluder for little cost if the one at Screwfix is the wrong size, thats what i've done.

Fatboy the screwfix ones are brilliant mate, a builder who I work for always uses these now, they are insulated too and you can do the entire job in half an hour. You can ajust the size of the hole to suit0

I'm guessing the hole is and panel are both pretty standard and so should be fine but I'll measure up and probably order it anyway. Cheers.2p off is still 2p off!0

Why do you need a new one? Is it broken?
If it is for cosmetic reasons, just cover it with a panel of plywood or similar, or heavy duty lining paper, and paint to match the ceiling.
If it is for draught proofing, it should be very easy to draught proof the existing door.
“Currently it's just a piece of wood with hinges and a latch” A loft hatch does not have to be any more complicated than that.0 -
I need a new one because the old one is cracked, I could always turn it round 180 degrees and swap the latch and hinges I guess, now that is moneysaving!!!2p off is still 2p off!0
