Forgive me for trusting someone if he sent the phone he would have proof would he not? But I've to prove he didn't? As usual shows what a joke the law is! The bank need to ask him if he sent it cause they processed the transaction, they know his name address and account number. I'm glad some of the people on here would just say it's only £200 forget it! Obviously they don't need money saving expert! I did ask for help not for stuck up people to say it's your own fault. If you walked into a shop and said heres £200 and got nothing you would say something would you not?0

Why do the bank need to ask him if he sent it!? There is a transfer yes, but it doesn't mean anything. I use the same method to send money to my housemates every now and again, its there for transferring money to otherpeoples account.
It is your fault for being so stupid, sorry if that sounds rude but it is. Live and learn, don't do it again.0 -

The money doesn't go from your account to their account. It goes to a central processing company - PayPal, who then process the transaction.
What you have done is just sent money to another person! There is no middle man for the transaction!0 -
Why do you think it is the bank or the polices responsibility?
As repeatedly stated there is no element of fraud or theft. If the item does not arrive this will still not be the bank or polices responsibility...you could raise a small claim action.
It is fraud and theft as the police have agreed why are people on here so stuck up! You pay money you get the goods I didn't and he can't prove he sent it because he didn't of I was lying he could say here's the proof of posting. I'm not replying any more as I asked for some help and everyone on here is so smart and £200 is loose change to them, what a pathetic excuse of supposedly helpful people0 -

Just what I said it's the same with no middle man taking fees to do it !0 -

Exactly - so back to the analogy someone said earlier, would you give a stranger money in the street if they said "Give me money now and I'll come back in a few hours with a phone?"
No, no you wouldn't!0 -

You using your debit card for transactions.
A BACS transfer is not the same as a debit card transaction, they are completely different.
Actually many online businesses including ebay allow payment by bacs.
This is the very definition of fraud under the fraud act 2006 and the police are the ones to go to here.0 -
Do you have his address? I'd go round to visit with a couple of mates.I get enough exercise just pushing my luck0
