Help please! Rent increase/eviction

Ok have posted a few times before. my landlord is increasing my rent again in September and am unable to pay the extra money.Went to the local council and they have said I will need a possession order/ bailiff letter to confirm I will be evicted for non payment of the extra rent ( I will still be paying the rent I am now able to pay ).
I have already told the managing agents I cannot afford the extra rent, my renewal is due end of Sept. They have sent a letter saying that they will start viewings on my property as I havent got back to them and I will have to move out Sept.
SO my question is : Should I now write to the managing agents and tell them I am only paying the current rent ( which I have told them over the phone anyway ) and I will not be leaving Sept and they will have to evict me instead?
Should I write that? about them having to evict me ? I am not sure what to do exactly as the council keep giving me different answers each time I speak to them.........
I have been told by the council I will be given temporary accomodation as I am disabled person .
Thank you , and sorry for asking the same thing over again but not sure what to do for the best ...
