I'd try the Pho with chicken stock. It'll taste different but this might be a good or a bad thing.

I am going through my cupboards (and freezer) for some ideas on the menu plan and then will be back.

Sunday -- Sea bass with new potatoes & green beans
Monday -- Brie & cherry tomato pasta
Tuesday -- Smoked haddock with rice, peas & sweetcorn
Wednesday -- bacon, pea & mozarella pasta
Thursday -- Salmon with new potatoes & peas
    Friday -- Tandoori chicken kebabs
    Satuday -- Sausages with ????

How do you cook your sea bass? I love it and often order it out, but have only cooked it once myself at home - my late ex was a great cook, but I didn't pay attention - which was maybe from M and S or Sainsbury's, when there are instructions on the packet and some flavoured butter included. That tasted great, pan fried with melted butter poured over, but I am interested in how other people cook it.

Hello everyone here is my list
Sunday chicken in tarragon sauce, carbonara and pasta
Monday chicken stir fry with cashew nuts (using up last of roast chicken)
Tuesday chicken soup, burritos with spicy potatoes
Wednesday out for dinner with friends
    Thurs sausages with veg
    Friday pork with mushroom sauce

Will bake some muffins and make pancakes for desert. There are also some yoghurts in the fridge to be eaten this week. Still apples and blackberries in the garden so that helps.
Making big batch lentil soup and will freeze most. Once stripped meat off the chicken will put the rest into the slow cooker and make some chicken soup.
Friends moving overseas so going out for dinner but managed just to use one batch of hm chili from freezer to make burritos by adding more peppers and some sweetcorn. Dh really enjoyed it so success!
Thinking of chicken fajitas, salmon parcels, toad in hole, beef in red wine and pasta bake next week.

I put some sliced lemons in a dish & sprinkle them with fresh chives.
Lay the sea bass on top & season.
Cover with tinfoil & bake in the oven for approx 30 mins Gas 5.

  • I am determined to stick to my mealplan this week, but not allocating meals to specific days as this is where I tend to go wrong, so have planned the meals and can decide on the day what we fancy, did a big mince batch cook today - made lots of chilli and spag bol for freezer and had some of the spag bol tonight. Planning a chicken batch cook tomorrow. Meals will be:

    Spag Bol (had tonight)
    Chicken Pie, potatoes & broccoli
    Chilli
    Sausage, mash and beans
Creamy Chicken & Mushroon Pasta Bake
    Pizza, garlic bread & salad
    Chicken Fajitas

Also going to make 2 pots of soup tomorrow, 1 mushroom and 1 lentil, and will freeze into portions for at least 3 lunches throughout the week, other lunches will be beans on toast, ham salad sandwiches, egg mayo sandwiches, cheese toasties.

Breakfasts - porridge, shreddies, fruit, yoghurt

will bake some scones this week also.

    Hello all

This is my first time :) Me and the OH are trying to clear the freezer so apologies if things look a bit 'odd'.

Monday - Left over Ham hock and Lentils with runner beans and carrots. (All veg HG)

Tues - Courgette and Bacon scraps pasta thing

Wed - Chinese dumpling night! (Dim sum extravaganza! :D)

Thursday - Beef stir fry (found a steak in the freezer)

Friday - Spag Bol (found some posh beef burgers in the freezer so will use them up)

Saturday - Spag Bol leftovers (if any)... or Toad in the Hole (found some frozen sausages).

Basically me and the OH are seeing how long we can go for without buying anything apart from eggs, bread and milk. Our freezer also needs defrosting (not in 2 years!).

Need to get back on track with the mealplans now I'm back off holiday:

Our week runs from Thurs - Wed:

So this week we are having / had:

    Thurs: Noodles
Fri: LO Chicken and something with rice
    Sat: Takeaway
    Sun: Eat at DH's parents
Mon: Salmon with cream & dill sauce, broccoli and pasta
    Tues: Seafood Paella
Wed: Steak, HM Herby Roast Pots, HM Mushroom Sauce and Veggies

Tomatoes are coming along nicely in the garden, so I don't think it will be long before we are having tomatoes with every meal! LOL.

    Have a good week all.

M - frozen home made curry
    T -Spahetti Bolognese
W - Lasagne made with the bolognese sauce with a cheeseboard as some friends around for dinner. Have some cheese ready in the fridge so although not the most economic option - and not the lowest calorie one - it should work out fairly cheap. On the other hand expect supplies of wine to take a battering...
Th - Salmon out of the freezer with frozen vegetables
    F- Fish finger sandwiches
s - Lunchtime - fish finger sandwiches. Evening - out for dinner and we are not paying
S - (Freezer will still contain fish fingers, scampi, prawns and ice cream, so may go for prawn stir fry but think I will get something to roast - whatever is on offer - and lots of roast veg.)
