As I say, thinking of relocating to a different area to make a fresh start, I know people in Derby but need an independant perspective of what its like.

We are in the process of doing the same thing, we are moving from Birmingham to Swadlincote & cant wait. The property is much cheaper than Birmingham & a much nicer area.0

I think you'll find "Swad" a lot less multicultural (and cultural), and with a lower IQ generally.

Solihull is nice, I have friends near Radbourne Road, I'll guess your buying in Church Gresley or Village D'Albert (as some call it !)
You will find you need to go back to Balsall Heath for a decent curry.0 -

i've lived in Derbyshire since I was 6 apart from when at uni. Theres some colourful areas, but some really quiet areas where nothing really happens. Its a pretty safe bet really, people are pretty nice and friendly, its diverse cultural wise and houses are pretty reasonable no matter where you are in the area. Has good links to most areas of the country as theres loads of train stations in the area. Buses are mainly run by trent barton which are pretty good. Depends what you want to know about it really:T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one
